(BEDFORD) - Mount Pleasant Road between Wallner Quarry and Bud Ikerd roads will be closed between 8 am and 4 pm as early as Tuesday or possibly Wednesday.

According to Lawrence County Project Manager Bob Dillon, the bridge will be closed for the bridge contractor to install the new beams for the new County Bridge 70 on Mt. Pleasant Road spanning over Pleasant Run Creek.

"Regardless of which day it actually will be, it will be during one day only and Mt. Pleasant Road will be open to traffic again after 4 p.m.," Dillon says. "Please be advised that bridge construction sites are inherently dangerous and all persons non-essential for construction will be restricted to 100 yards (a football field length) away from the bridge."
