(BLOOMINGTON) - A data breach at Indiana University, which exposed personal information of 146,000 students and recent graduates, has cost the university more than $80,000 and 700 personnel hours so far.
The Herald-Times reports that as the investigation comes to a close, there is no evidence that anyone's information has been compromised or used, according to university spokesman Mark Land.
The university reported last month that information as names, addresses and Social Security numbers of those who attended any of IU's campuses from 2011 to 2014 was unsecured for more than 11 months because security protections weren't working correctly.
Land says an investigation hasn't yet turned up any evidence that that anyone's identity information has been compromised or used.
A call center number for questions about the data breach will remain active through at least this week. It has received about 950 calls so far, with roughly half coming on the first day.
