(BEDFORD) - Lawrence County Police officers are investigating an incident where a .380-caliber gun was found in a yard in the 3900 block of I Street Tuesday night.
"The resident found the gun and called police," says Sheriff Sam Craig. "The weapon had been there for a while."
Craig says the gun does not match one reported stolen.
"We discovered that no one had reported that weapon stolen and are continuing our investigation," Craig says.
Anyone with information about the weapon is asked to call the Lawrence County Police Department.
