(BEDFORD) - The extradition process will begin today to bring both 19-year-old Taylor Flynn and 16-year-old Dillon Hicks back from Ironton, Ohio to face murder charges.
Both teens are from Bedford.
18-year-old Austin Curtis of Bedford is also facing murder and robbery charges.
On Thursday, police alleged the three teens went to the home of 43-year-old Rodney Allender in the 1700 block of Dutch Ridge Road and robbed him and beat him to death.
An autopsy report confirms Allender died of blunt force trauma. Allender's body was discovered at 9:40 p.m. by his son and his girlfriend.
Lawrence County Police spent two days questioning witnesses, gathering evidence and locating the teens involved in the crime.
Curtis was arrested early Saturday morning and is being held in the Lawrence County jail without bond. Flynn and Hickes were located in Ironton, Ohio Saturday afternoon after police pinged a cell phone.
Ironton is located in Lawrence County, Ohio, along the Ohio River near the intersection of the Ohio, Kentucky and West Virginia state boarders.
According to Ironton Police Chief Dan Johnson, an officer remembered seeing the white 1995 Chevrolet Beretta during his patrols.
Chief Johnson says Flynn and Hicks fled, leading police on a car chase through parts of the city and into a residential area, where officers stopped the pursuit after the Barretta almost hit several children.
Officers lost sight of the vehicle, but soon found it again. The teens stopped the car and then fled on foot and police found them hiding in the back of a van.
They were arrested without incident. Flynn is being held in the Lawrence County, Ohio jail and Hicks was taken to a juvenile detention center.
Charges were also filed against the two teens in Ironton.
"It will be up to the prosecutor there on if they will pursue those charges or not," Craig says.
Sheriff Craig says the teens did not know Allender personally, but did target him for the crime.
"The motive was robbery," Craig says. "They did take money and firearms from Mr. Allender's home."
Craig says all three could be facing additional charges.
He would also like to thank the community for sharing information that led to the arrests.
"The public participation in this investigation was forth coming which provided us with valuable suspect information. As a result of that information obtained from many witnesses these arrests were made," Craig says.
