(NASHVILLE) - Three Brown County High School varsity basketball players are under investigation by the school administration and Nashville police after an incident at the school Friday.

According to a press release an investigation has determined that athletic rules have been violated and the school is reviewing what disciplinary action will be appropriate.

The players' names are not being released.

Principal Shane Killinger says he cannot comment on the allegation or how the administration was alerted to the incident. He did say that no one was injured and no property was damaged, but police are investigating the incident.

The team is scheduled to play the first round of sectional play Tuesday. It is unclear if the three players will be on the court.

The Brown County Democrat reports that the BCHS athletic code of conduct requires players to show respect for opponents, officials, fellow teammates and students and all faculty and staff members and to "maintain self-control at all times, regardless of the situation. The code states that "inappropriate conduct or language may result in suspension or probation at the coach's discretion."

The code of conduct also prohibits the use or possession of tobacco products and the use or possession of any of controlled substances including alcohol. Athletes are also required to submit to drug testing.

The school is also required by law to report any conduct involving drugs, narcotics or alcoholic beverages that occur or within 1,000 feet of the school grounds.

Any play with a felony or misdemeanor charge will have his or her case reviewed and a decision rendered by the athletic council.
