Two Women Injured After Vehicle Flips On Ind. 37

Last updated on Thursday, February 6, 2014

(JUDAH) - Two people were injured after the vehicle they were in flipped Wednesday night, trapping them both inside.

According to a Lawrence County Police report, 24-year-old Stephanie Grace of Oolitic was traveling south on Ind. 37 near the intersection of Old Ind. 37 at Johnny's Junction in a 2003 Pontiac Grand Am when the accident happened at 9:40 p.m.

Grace told police that it was snowing and she didn't see a vehicle stopped in front her. She swerved the car to the left to avoid a collision and that is when she over corrected and lost control of the car.

The car ran off the east side of Ind. 37 and rolled several times before landing on the tires facing east.

Grace and her passenger, 25-year-old Kasey Browning were both trapped inside.

First responders from Marshall Volunteer Fire Department and firefighters from Bedford Fire Department responded to free the two women from the vehicle.

Both complained of body pain and were taken to IU Health Hospital Bloomington Hospital for treatment.
