Last updated on Saturday, February 8, 2014

(LINTON) - Police are looking for two women accused of physically attacking another woman.

After the woman escaped the attack and was walking away, they allegedly ran her down and intentionally hitting her with their vehicle.

Warrants were issued Thursday for the arrests of Cynthia R. Cox and Kathleen E. Featherstone.

Both are wanted on preliminary charges of criminal confinement, battery resulting in bodily injury.

The whereabouts of the two women were unknown as this morning.

The Greene County Crime Stoppers is offering a reward for information leading to an arrests.

Linton Police Department Chief Troy Jerrell says the investigation is ongoing and more charges could be filed.

The woman suffered several injuries including bruising, bleeding, redness and swelling. She also suffered injuries to her shoulder and was taken to the Greene County General Hospital for treatment.

According to police the woman was picked up at a friend's home in Linton on Tuesday, by Cox and Featherstone and two other men. She had previously been in a relationship with one of the men, who was now in a relationship with Cox.

The woman and Cox had previously got into an argument about these relationship issues, but the woman thought Cox wanted to work things out.

But now the woman believes the attack on her was planned.

At first everything was fine, the woman and the others went to a home and nothing happened, but then as the women were driving her back to her friend's home they attacked the woman.
The woman says Cox began punching her in the face, then Featherstone allegedly joined the attack. The woman tried to get out of the vehicle but could because the two women were holding her down.

The woman told police the man involved in the relationship, sat in the front seat and watched the attack.

The woman eventually was able to escape and began walking down an alley to get away. That is when Featherstone came up behind her on foot and started hitting her again.

According to the victim, the two women then got into the vehicle and the vehicle drove up behind her and hit her. She was knocked to the ground and the driver of the 2005 Chevrolet Cavalier four-door did not stop but drove away.

Linton Police Department Chief Tony Jerrell is asking that anyone with information about the attack or the whereabouts of the two women are asked to contact the Linton Police Department at 812-847-4411 or contact Greene County Crime Stoppers by calling 812-TIP-LINE, 812-847-5463 or toll free at 866-446-4672.
