Participants Take Chilly Plunge To Raise Funds For Special Olympics

Last updated on Monday, February 17, 2014

(BLOOMINGTON) - The temperature was below freezing and snow covered the ground, but that didn’t stop more than 100 people from donning swimsuits and jumping into an icy pool of water in front of Assembly Hall on Saturday.

They joined more than 2,000 participants from around the state for the Polar Plunge, a fundraiser to benefit Special Olympics Indiana, a not-for-profit organization that offers sports training and athletic competition for more than 11,000 children and adults in Indiana with intellectual disabilities.
