(VALEEN) - Indiana State Police have released information regarding the Harrison County pursuit that ended in Valeen this morning.
According to ISP Public Information Trooper Sgt. Philip Hensley, at approximately 1:59 a.m. Harrison County Deputy Michael Andry saw a black Honda Civic traveling on U.S. 150 and Ind. 135 in Palmyra traveling at a high-rate of speed.
Deputy Andry followed behind the Honda and checked the license plate through the Bureau of Motor Vehicles and found the plate did not belong to the Honda. Deputy Andry then activiated his emergency lights and attempted to stop the car. That is when the car sped away.
The pursuit continued west on U.S. 150 through Washington County and into Orange County. Near the Rego area, the driver of the vehicle turned south onto county roads, eventually turning south onto Valeene Road. At County Road 820 South, the driver turned west onto a dead end.
The driver then stopped the vehicle, but turned it around facing towards Deputy Andry. The officer exited his police car, drew his weapon and ordered the driver to stop and exit the vehicle. The driver then drove directly at Deputy Andry.
The officer fired three shots into the windshield of the vehicle and striking two occupants.
The driver then gunned the vehicle, striking Deputy Andry throwing him onto the hood of his police car. The Honda then struck the police car, driving down teh passenger side.
An Indiana Conservation Officer, who was also involved in the pursuit, pulled in front of the Honda, stopping the vehicle.
The three people in the Honda were arrested without further incident.
Deputy Andry was transported to the Harrison County Hospital, where he was treated for leg and back injuries and released.
The driver of the Honda Civic, 23-year-old Daniel Ray Holloway, of Leavenworth, IN, suffered two gunshot wound to the hands and was flown by helicopter to the University of Louisville Hospital. The front seat passenger, 30-year-old Ian T. Goebel, 30, of Depauw, was shot in the stomach. He was also was taken to University of Louisville Hospital. A backseat passenger, 25-year-old Rachel S. Kirkham, of Corydon, was not injured.
Troopers from the Indiana State Police Meth Suppression Section were called to the scene and found precursors to manufacture meth in a backpack inside the Honda. No meth was found.
Charges are pending against all three involved in the incident.
The Indiana State Police was assisted during the investigation by the Orange and Harrison County Sheriff's Departments.
