Last updated on Wednesday, February 12, 2014

(BLOOMINGTON) - Bloomington police, after receiving numerous calls about a man acting strange, went to College Mall at 10 a.m. Friday.

Police were looking for a man with a reddish-brown hair and beard that was screaming at people and jumping in front of cars at the mall. Police also received calls from Shalom Community Center, Bloomingfoods and several other stores at the mall about the 26-year-old white man.

When police arrived, they discovered the man outside Bloomingfoods on Third Street, where the man had reportedly asked a woman for oral sex. Inside the mall, witnesses told police the man had walked into Foot Locker and took some shoes and then brought them back.

The man was detained and taken to IU Bloomington Health Hospital for a medical evaluation.
