(OOLITIC) - Charlie Luther is now a member of the Oolitic town council.
Luther was sworn in last week and will replace councilmen Billy Burnett.
Burnett turned in his resignation in January.
In his resignation letter, Burnett state he was resigning because of "his work schedule and requirements" and he was "unable to fairly represent the people of Oolitic."
Because Shawswick 12 only has one committeeman in the district Republican Chairman Patty Ford appointed Luther to the position.
Luther will fill the rest of Burnett's term which will be up for re-election in 2015.
