Bloomington Man Accused Of Running Escort Service From Motel Room

Last updated on Thursday, February 13, 2014

(BLOOMINGTON) - Police arrested a Bloomington man after receiving information he had been running an escort service out of a motel room on the city’s northwest side.

23-year-old Morris Hanson is facing charges of promoting prostitution. He is also facing a probation violation charge because he was on probation when he was arrested.

He was arrested Tuesday evening at the Super 8 Motel in the 1700 block of North Stone Lake Drive.

Police say Hanson was promoting prostitution from the motel from late December until the end of January.

Two women, age 37 and 19-years-old, admitted to engaging in sexual relations with men who answered escort ads set up by Hanson.

Hanson denied the allegations. He did admit to running the ads and receiving money from the 37-year-old woman, but would not tell police how much. He did tell police he "messed up" and the amount of money was not worth it and he was going to jail.
