(BLOOMINGTON) - The Bloomington Hospital Foundation continues its merit-based scholarship program for healthcare students in 2014.
The scholarships are provided to help future healthcare providers cover the cost of tuition and books as they work to earn their degree.
To be eligible for one of the 10 $2,500 scholarships, students need to be a permanent resident of south central Indiana (Brown, Daviess, Greene, Jackson, Lawrence, Martin, Monroe, Morgan, Orange, Owen, Washington counties) and enrolled in a degree program for the following healthcare careers within Allied Health and Nursing:
* Occupational Therapist
* Physical Therapist
* Speech Therapist
* Medical Laboratory Scientist (Associate or Bachelor)
* Radiation Therapist
* Radiological Technologist
* Respiratory Therapist
* Registered Nurse (Staff Nurse or any specialty)
"These scholarships enable the Bloomington Hospital Foundation to provide financial assistance to a select group of students, enabling their degree completion, while also meeting the needs of IU Health Bloomington and its regional partners in delivery of excellent patient care," says Sonna Merk, co-chair of the Foundation's scholarship committee.
Applications for the merit-based scholarships are available online at bloomingtonhospitalfoundation.org. Applications must be received by 4 pm on Friday, March 14, 2014.
