(BEDFORD) - 56 women have been nominated to receive a Walk with Excellent award on March 6.
It is the 10th year for the event.
The original committee and the honorees from the first event in 2005 will attend.
Executive Director of the Lawrence County Community Foundation Hope Flores, says the event celebrates women from the community that make Lawrence County a better place to live.
The program recognizes these women from, raises funds for the WWE Scholarship Endowment, held by the Lawrence County Community Foundation, which then awards scholarship to students.
This year's event will be held at the Lawrence County 4-H fairgrounds.
The event will begin at 5:30 p.m. with a reception and silent auction. The award ceremony will follow at 6:30 p.m.
Tickets are $12 and available at the Bedford Chamber of Commerce, LCCF and the Times-Mail. Tickets must be purchased by 4 pm. Friday.
