Washington Man Accused Of Assaulting 12-Year-Old

Last updated on Wednesday, January 15, 2014

(WASHINGTON) - 19-year-old Jalen Elthzroth, of Washington, was arrested Tuesday on a warrant for child molesting.

Elthzroth is being held at the Daviess County Security Center on $25,000 bond.

According to a probable cause affidavit, Eltzroth is accused of assaulting a then 12-year-old girl on January 1, 2013.

Daviess County Sheriff's deputies were alerted last month after the Department of Child Services contacted them.

The girl told police that Eltzroth forced her to have intercourse with her after a New Year's party for 2013. The girl says the incident happened at Eltzroth's mother's home. The girl told police that Eltzroth, who had been drinking vodka was "looking at her weird."

The two then went into Eltzroth's bedroom where he propositioned her. That is when the girl alleges that she tried to leave and Eltzroth blocked the door and locked it and then forced her to have sex.

After the alleged incident, Eltzroth told the girl not to tell anyone. The girl said she didn't because she didn't because she didn't want to be called names and didn't want her mother to think it was her fault.

The girl then took a shower and went home.

But Eltzroth then sent her a text message saying he was sorry and that he missed her.

It was not until last month that the girl told a school counselor about the attack.

When police talked to Eltzroth, he denied knowing the girl. He then asked police if he was a witness or suspect. When police told him he was a suspect he requested an attorney.
