Last updated on Thursday, January 9, 2014

(BEDFORD) - Bedford police are investigating the theft of a vehicle from Lawrence County Auto Sales.

At 9:05 a.m. Wednesday police received a report that a creamed-colored 2000 Ford Explorer was missing from the lot.

According to Bedford Police Chief Dennis Parsley, an employee arrived at the business around 8:30 a.m. and found numerous keys in the driveway.

"Before entering the building, they also noticed an interior door in the building that should have been closed was open," Parsley says.

The employee then called the owner of the business and he called police.

Parsley says there was damage to the inside of the building and a code scanner, a diagnostic tool for vehicles was missing.

Anyone with information about the theft or has seen the vehicle is asked to call Bedford police.
