Two Hurt In Washington Accident

Last updated on Thursday, January 16, 2014

(WASHINGTON) - Two people were injured in an accident at the U.S. 50-State Road 257 intersection Tuesday afternoon.

Around 2:05 p.m., 80-year-old Emma Harder of Washington was traveling west bound on U.S. 50 and was attempting to make a left turn onto State Road 257.

At the same time, 22-year-old Dallas Graber, who was driving a 2001 GM van, was traveling east on State Road 257 and saw Harder beginning to turn and swerved into the slow lane of traffic to avoid the collision.

However, Harder's 2006 Chevrolet Malibu hit Graber's vehicle behind the driver's door, causing the van to flip onto the passenger side and skid down the roadway.

Graber was not injured, but Harder and her passenger, 93-year-old Naomi Arvin of Washington, were taken to Daviess Community Hospital for treatment.
