(MITCHELL) - Two men were arrested after police found drugs during a traffic stop Sunday.

Officers arrested 44-year-old Jackie Harris, of Orleans, on charges of possession of meth and 19-year-old Braidon Gilstrap, of Mitchell, on possession of marijuana under 30 grams, driving while never licensed, illegal consumption and possession of drug paraphernalia.

The vehicle Gilstrap was driving was stopped by a Mitchell Police officer for a traffic violation at 5:54 p.m. on Frank Street near the Wesleyan Church.

According to Mitchell Police Chief Mike Hardman, officers Cain Gilstrap and JD England pulled over a vehicle and as they approached the vehicle those inside were acting suspicious.

During a pat down, checking for weapons officers found the drugs. Hardman says no weapons were found.

After the vehicle was stopped officers discovered possible drug activity.
