Seymour Auto Repair And Towing Business Destroyed In Fire

Last updated on Tuesday, January 7, 2014

(SEYMOUR) - A family-owned auto repair and towing business in Seymour burned to the ground early Saturday morning, killing the family dog and causing more than $400,000 in damages.

Greg Thorneycroft, owner of Cypress Service Auto Repair Shop and Towing, on East County Road 975 North received a call around 2 a.m. from neighbors who live behind the building, saying flames were coming from the roof.

The family has owned the business for more than 30 years.

The fire engulfed the building, a truck and tools and killed the families 9-year-old German shepherd, named O'Neill.
