Salem Has A New Police Officer

(SALEM) - The Salem Police Department welcomes its newest member of the force - Patrolman Nigel Smith

Smith is a 2008 graduate of Salem High School currently resides in the Salem area. He also is a 2012 graduate of Indiana University where he received his Bachelor's Degree in Criminal Justice and Telecommunications.

He is a graduate of the Indiana Law Enforcement Academy and is currently certified as a police officer.

Smith was sworn in on December 30th by Mayor David Bower in a ceremony at City Hall. He assumed duties of a Patrolman on New Years Eve.
