Red Brick To Get Facelift, New Playground Equipment Coming To Otis Park

Last updated on Tuesday, January 28, 2014

(BEDFORD) - Bedford Park Director Mike Mitchell reported the user fees at Otis Park and the swimming pool would remain the same in 2014.

Mitchell says because of hard economic times it is important the community and people who support the parks have the opportunity to participate in programs and activities.

Crews have been building new picnic tables and park benches that will be placed throughout the parks system in the spring.

Mitchell added that new playground equipment is designated for the soccer complex at Otis Park. With grass planted and a new irrigation system in place, he hopes the Orbit Soccer League can begin playing its matches at the site by sometime in June.

He also told the park board he allocated $40,000 in the budget for an overhaul of the Red Brick. Crews will be working from top to bottom with most of the focus being on the roof and top of the building.
