Plainville Basketball Legend Lloyd Bateman Has Died

(BICKNELL) - Indiana Basketball Hall of Famer Lloyd D. Bateman died Sunday in Bicknell.

Bateman was the first Indiana high school player to score 2,000 points in a high school career.

Bateman graduated from Plainville High School in Daviess County in 1958. He was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 2008.

He finished his high school career with 2,078 points while leading Plainville -- which had a student enrollment of 85 -- to an 81-12 record as a four-year starter.
