(BEDFORD) - Lawrence County Police were called to IU Health Hospital at 11:02 p.m. Monday after emergency personnel were treating a man for a gunshot wound.
"The initial report indicates it was an accidental discharge of a firearm, but the incident is still under investigation," Lawrence County Sheriff Sam Craig says. "The incident happened on East Powerline Road."
Craig says he has not been updated on the man's condition, but believes the injury is not life threatening.
