Last updated on Monday, January 13, 2014

(HUNTINGBURG) - A French Lick man is credited with saving the life of an elderly Huntingburg woman Friday after pulling her out of her burning vehicle following a head on collision on Cuzco Norton Road in Dubois County.

The Dubois County Sheriff's Office says 27-year-old Jesse Roberts of French Lick collided head-on with 86-year-old Norma Gene Devine of Huntingburg.

Roberts told investigators Devine crossed the center line into his lane of travel.
Devine was trapped in her burning vehicle.

Police say Roberts was able to reach in and unbuckle Devine, and pull her to safety.

Devine suffered spine and rib injuries in the crash. Roberts complained of knee and neck pain.
