(BLOOMFIELD) - A man convicted of child molestation was arrested Friday after police found he had been living in a homeless shelter in Bloomington.
31-year-old Jeremiah Adams was arrested for failing to register as a sex offender. According to Jasonville police, police began an investigation into where Adams was living in December after police determined Adams was not living at the home where he had registered he would be.
Adams was convicted of child molestation in 2004 and was required to register for 10 years after his release. He was released in 2006.
He registered that he was living at a home on Sycamore Street in Jasonville, but police found Adams had moved from that home.
Police discovered Adams had been staying at the Shalom Community Center in Bloomington.
This is not the first time Adams was arrested for failing to register as a sex offender.
He was convicted of the crime in Greene County in 2007 and in another county in 2008. Because of that, Adams is facing new charges of failure to register as a sex offender and failure to register as a sex offender with a prior conviction, both felony offenses.
