Local Pharmacist Named President of Indiana Board Of Pharmacy

(BEDFORD) - Steven Anderson of Bedford was elected president of the Indiana Board of Pharmacy.

Anderson, who graduated from the Butler College of Pharmacy in 1991, is part-owner of two retail pharmacies , a clinic pharmacy and a long-term care pharmacy, all in Bedford.

The board oversees licensing and regulatory matters for pharmacists, pharmacy technicians , instate and non-resident pharmacies , wholesale drug distributors, home medical equipment providers, controlled substance registrations and the INSPECT prescription database.

Anderson was appointed to the board in 2003 by former Gov. Joe Kernan and reappointed by former Gov. Mitch Daniels in 2007.

"Mr. Anderson's servant leadership and experience are welcomed at a time in Indiana history when we are striving to promote economic development and remove barriers to practice to make Indiana a state that works," said Nicholas Rhoad, IPLA executive director.
