(JASONVILLE) - Late Friday afternoon Jasonville Police says 25-year-old Joshua A. Ray, of Jasonville, was the man whose body was found on New Year's Day.

Dr. Roland Kohr was able to identify Ray after an autopsy was performed at Regional Hospital in Terre Haute Friday morning.

Assistant police chief Jim Gadberry say the department is continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding the possible homicide.

Greene County Coroner Sherri Wilson confirmed Ray's body was found on Meridian Street in Jasonville and that Greene County Deputy Coroner Dave Drew had been called to the scene.

Wilson did say the circumstances were suspicious, but offered no other details.

Police are continuing to ask questions and anyone with information regarding the possible homicide is asked to contact Greene County Crime Stoppers at 812-847-5463.

All callers are anonymous and a cash reward is offered for any information that leads to an arrest.

Jasonville police are being assisted by the Indiana State Police in the ongoing investigation.
