ISP To Tow Abandoned Vehicle That Impede Snow Removal

Last updated on Saturday, January 4, 2014

(BLOOMINGTON) - In preparation for the impending winter weather, the Indiana State Police at the Bloomington District will begin towing abandoned vehicles that will impede the snow removal process.

The Bloomington District serves Monroe, Owen, Morgan, Brown, Lawrence and Greene Counties.

To allow snow removal crews to operate in a more safe and efficient manor, any vehicle found that will potentially impede the snow removal efforts of highway crews will be removed immediately by the State Police with the assistance of local towing services.

For road updates, please visit http://indot.carsprogram.org; http://www.in.gov/isp/3096.htm or call 1-800-261-ROAD.

Do not call local law enforcement or 911 for road information. These lines need to be left open for emergency calls.

If you find your vehicle has been towed, you can contact law enforcement after the severe weather has passed.
