(BLOOMINGTON) - The Superintendent of the Indiana State Police, Douglas Carter, has recognized Sergeant Eric K. Garceau for twenty years of service to the people of the State of Indiana.
Sergeant Garceau currently serves as the Indiana Data and Communications System (IDACS) Security Officer for the South Zone. Sgt. Garceau's duties include ensuring the integrity of IDACS computers and investigating alleged IDACS security violations. Sgt. Garceau also audits IDACS computers and instructs others on IDACS security as needed.
Originally from Bedford Indiana, Garceau is a 1987 graduate of Bedford North Lawrence High School. Garceau attended Indiana State University from 1987 - 1992, where he graduated with a bachelor's degree.
Sergeant Garceau began his law enforcement career upon being accepted to the Indiana State Police Recruit Academy in the summer of 1993. In December of that year, he was appointed to Trooper and assigned to the Toll Road District, where he stayed until 1995. Sergeant Garceau then transferred to the Bloomington Post where he worked Lawrence County until 2006. In 2006, Sergeant Garceau started working as the South Zone IDACS Security Officer where he serves now.
