Last updated on Sunday, January 5, 2014

(GREENE CO.) - Because of the increased danger due to the severe cold, the Greene County Travel Advisory has been raised to Level Two which is a watch status by the Greene County Board of Commissioners.

Rick Graves, President of the Board of Commissioners signed the declaration at 7:14 tonight. The declaration calls for:

Only essential travel is recommended that is to and from work and emergency situations. Citizens should avoid all travel if possible

This will be in effect from 7:30 tonight until noon Tuesday, January 7th. In addition the Greene County Court house will be closed on Monday only with an evaluation for a further closure to be made Monday afternoon according to Graves.

"Keeping off the roads not only protects our citizens but also the lives of our emergency responders and our limited resources of response vehicles." Graves said.
