CDL Drivers Must Self-Certify By Jan. 30

Last updated on Tuesday, January 14, 2014

(UNDATED) - The Indiana Bureau of Motor Vehicles is reminding Commercial Driver’s License holders that the deadline to self-certify is January 30th.

Federal regulations require CDL holders to certify with the BMV the type of commercial motor vehicles that they operator or intend to operate as well as an acknowledgement that medical requirements for that CDL are met.

Self-certification can be completed free of charge online at mybmv.com or at any BMV branch.

Failure to self-certify will disqualify the CDL holder's driving privileges as of February 1st.

Base driving privileges for personal use, however, will not be affected for failure to self-certify.
