Last updated on Tuesday, January 14, 2014

(BEDFORD) - A Bedford man was arrested Saturday night after officers were called to a domestic fight in the 200 block of 17th Street.

According to Bedford Police Chief Dennis Parsley, 55-year-old Billy Hardin was arrested on charges of domestic battery, possession of stolen property and violation of a protective order and possession of meth.

"A frantic woman called 911 after Mr. Hardin allegedly forced his way into her home, violating a protective order, struggled with her and pushed her to the ground, jumped on top of her and slammed her head against the ground," says Parsley." He then allegedly took a handgun from the home and fled in a vehicle."

Officers stopped his vehicle not far from the home.

Officers recovered the gun and found a baggie with a white powdery substance inside and straws that all tested positive for meth.
