Bedford Man Arrested After Breaking Into Springville Home

Last updated on Friday, January 10, 2014

(BEDFORD) - A Bedford man was arrested Wednesday for a burglary that happened in Greene County almost a year ago.

20-year-old Billy Dean Mills was transferred from the Lawrence County Jail to The Greene County Jail Wednesday afternoon.

According to a probable cause affidavit, Mills is accused of breaking a glass panel in a rear door that led to a kitchen area of a home in the Springville area.

Mills allegedly stole $20 in change that was on the kitchen countertop and took prescription medications kept in a cabinet in the kitchen.

Greene County detectives found blood stains on a curtain covering the shattered glass door and found more on the kitchen counter top.

Samples of blood were submitted to the Indiana State Police Lab and in late December the test results showed the blood belonged to Mills, who is a previous convicted felon.

Detectives submitted the evidence to the Greene County Prosecutor who requested an arrest warrant.

Then on Wednesday, Mills appeared at the Lawrence County Probation Department for a scheduled appointment and he was arrested.

He is now being held without bond in the Greene County Jail until his court appearance.
