(WASHINGTON) - Three people have been arrested after an alleged drug deal went bad leaving a Washington teen dead.

17-year-old Devan Burris of Washington died at Daviess Community Hospital after he was found dumped outside their emergency department Friday.

Burris was shot during an incident on Oak Grove Road near Ebernezer Church. Sources say the teen was shot in the throat during an apparent dispute.

According to Washington Police Chief Mike Healy the death is a tragedy.

Police have arrested three people in connection with Burris' death.

Healy says 18-year-old Logan Evans was the person who shot Burris. Officers arrested Evans at an apartment on Highland Avenue shortly before 7 p.m. Sunday night. Evans has been charged with murder.

19-year-old Luke Benjamin was with Evans at the time of the shooting. He's been charged with conspiracy to commit murder. His bail has been set at $10 million dollars.

Both men's files have been sealed by a judge.

However, the file for the third defendant, 18-year-old Heaven Berry, was not sealed.

According to court documents, Berry told police that Logan Evans is her cousin. After learning about the shooting on Facebook, she told Evans to stay at her apartment. It was there he admitted to shooting Burris during a drug deal at the Ebenezer Church in what's called "Boxtown" in Washington.

Evans wanted to buy meth from Burris, and he brought Benjamin with him. Berry told police Burris had others with him, including a man with the alias "Debo." Berry told police "Debo" started an altercation with Benjamin. And when Burris approached Evans, Evans fired a gun. Evans told his cousin he had no intentions of killing Burris. The shot was meant to scare him. Burris managed to get into a Cadillac, which was seen fleeing the scene.

It's believed that Burris was left at the emergency department of Daviess Community Hospital, where he died.

Police are tight-lipped about the case, and wouldn't comment on specifics of the case.

"At this point, we're still doing some investigating," says Chief Healy. "Not sure if other charges will come following this. We're still checking into things."

Evans appeared in court Monday morning. His bond was set at $10 million. The judge set April 22nd as his trial date. As for Benjamin, he'll appear in court later this week. He's also held on a $10 million bond. Heaven Berry has a $100,000 bond and is charged with assisting a criminal who committed murder.
