(AVOCA) - Three people suffered minor injuries in an accident Tuesday morning at Ind. 37 and Ind. 54 West.
According to a Lawrence County Police report, 24-year-old Barbara Emmons, of Washington, was traveling south on Ind. 37 and approaching the intersection when she told police a 2006 Ford F-250 pulled into her path of travel and hit her 1999 Toyota Camry in the passenger side.
75-year-old Lester McGurie, of Bloomfield, told police he was traveling north on Ind. 37 and was turning onto Ind. 54 West from the north turn lane of Ind. 37. McGurie told police that when he pulled up to the intersection he had the red light so he stopped. The turn arrow then turned green and he began to make the turn when his truck was hit by the Camry.
23-year-old Deirdre Tromp, of Bloomington, a passenger in Emmons' car told police that about 20 feet prior to Emmons entering the intersection she saw the stop light turn yellow for the southbound lanes.
A passenger in McGurie's truck, 17-year-old Rhett Whaley, of Bloomfield, told police the turn arrow was green when McGurie made the turn.
Police stated in the report that the department had received information that all directions on the traffic lights were flashing red and at 10:53 a.m. a Lawrence County officer who had drove through the intersection reported the lights were still flashing red.
However the officer on the scene reported at the time of the crash the lights were working properly.
Emmons was not injured in the crash. Her passenger, Deirdre Tromp, complained of knee and leg pain.
McGuire suffered chest pain and his passenger Whaley suffered a head laceration.
