National Weather Service Says 7 To 10 Inches Of Snow Could Fall In Bedford

Last updated on Thursday, December 5, 2013

(BEDFORD) - Lawrence County Emergency Management completed a conference call with the National Weather Service.

According to Director Valerie Luchauer, Bedford could see up to 1 tenth of an inch of ice accumulation this evening from the freezing rain and or sleet.

This will be followed by 7 to 10 inches of snow by Friday night.

"It is possible we could have some sporadic power outages and fallen trees," Luchauer says. "Use extreme caution if you must travel."

All emergency response agencies in Lawrence County including the Red Cross are prepared to assist when possible should the need arise.

For emergency assistants residents are asked to call their local police agency.

"We are continuing to monitor the situation for Sunday with additional freezing rain to be followed by arctic temperatures," Luchauer added.
