Mitchell Man Arrested After Attempting To Grab Officer's Gun

(MITCHELL) - A Mitchell man was arrested Saturday after police went to a trailer at Lakeside Estates to serve an arrest warrant.

However when police arrived they discovered that 47-year-old Gregory Carmichael had been taking pills and was uncooperative with officers.

Carmichael began fighting with Mitchell Police Officer Kane Gilstrap and attempted to grab the officer's gun.

Gilstrap was able to prevent that from happening and Carmichael was arrested.

Carmichael is charged with resisting arrest, disarming a law enforcement officer, and on an civil writ of attachment out of Orange County.
