Last updated on Monday, December 2, 2013

(MEDORA) - A Medora couple was arrested on drug charges Friday night following a traffic stop on State Road 135 at the intersection of County Road 300 North in Jackson County.

According to a Jackson County deputy, 37-year-old Michael McVay was charged with possession of marijuana and possession of paraphernalia and 38-year-old Megan Christopher-Bane was charged with violation of the legend drug act, possession of a controlled substance, possession of marijuana and possession of paraphernalia.

The couple's vehicle was pulled over after the deputy noticed the truck McVay was driving had a headlight out around 8 p.m.

When the deputy approached the truck, he noticed the odor of burnt marijuana coming from inside it and that Christopher-Bane was attempting to hide something in her pants.

The deputy had the couple get out of the truck and search of the truck, finding marijuana and drug paraphernalia.

The deputy also found Christopher-Bane had more drug paraphernalia and hydrocodone pills concealed on her.

The couple was arrested and taken to jail.
