Lawrence County Veteran Affairs Office Releases November Numbers

(BEFORD) - Lawrence County Veterans Service Officer Brad Bough released the numbers for November for the Veterans Affairs Office.

The report was presented to the Lawrence County Commissioners last week.

During the month of November, Bough and his staff completed 114 personal interviews either in person at the veteran's home or in the office.

They filed 68 claims or applications for benefits.

Completed 88 information or counseling services, by answering questions or making referrals.

Attended 3 veteran meetings.

Filed 11 power of attorney forms.

Made 6 out of office interviews at homes, nursing homes or hospitals.

Traveled more than 43 miles

Handled 14 miscellaneous calls

Made 114 telephone calls and answered 57 phone calls.

Bough attended the November 5th and 19th commissioners meeting.

On November 5, Bough attended an outreach meeting with Hoosier Uplands personnel and an American Legion Post 33 meeting.

On November 7, Bough attended a meeting of the Lawrence County Pilots at Grissom Airport and was a guest speaker at Dollens Elementary School's Veterans Day observance.

On November 9, Bough made an appearance and spoke at the DAV Wish Foundation Concert at Mitchell High School.

Then on November 11, Bough was a guest speaker at Stonebridge Health Campus and Bliss House's Veterans Day observations.

On November 14, Bough attended the Red Cross Disaster Preparedness Meeting.

On November 21, Bough attended the Disabled American Veterans, Bedford Chapter 2 meeting and met with DAV State Commander Tom Bratcher and discussed various veteran issues.

On November 25, Bough attended the American Legion Post 250 meeting in Mitchell and on November 27 ended the month with a meeting with the veteran's employment officers at WorkOne.
