Judge Dismisses Charges Against Person In Spierer Lawsuit

Last updated on Tuesday, December 3, 2013

(BLOOMINGTON) - This afternoon a judge heard arguments to dismiss a wrongful death lawsuit filed by the parents of a missing Indiana University student.

The judge dismissed the filing against one person named in the suit.

The lawsuit is against three men who were with Lauren Spierer the night she disappeared in June 2011.

The suit claimed Corey Rossman, Jason Rosenbaum and Michael Beth gave the 20-year-old alcohol, then didn't make sure she got back to her apartment safely.

Lawyers for the men want the lawsuit thrown out. They say the Spierers have no evidence that their daughter is dead and that their clients were not legally responsible for Lauren's safety.

Late Monday afternoon, the judge dismissed the suit filed against Michael Beth. The judge said a ruling as to the other two named in the suit would come by year's end.
