(BROWNSTOWN) - A Freetown man and his son must wait at least another month to learn whether the county will allow them to build two 4,000-head hog barns northwest of Brownstown.
The request for a special exception from 42-year-old James Lucas and his son, 16-year-old Matthew Lucas, was rejected by Jackson County Board of Zoning Appeals on Tuesday because adjoining property owners were not properly notified of the hearing.
The board's next meeting is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. Jan. 14, and Lucas was told he could renew his request to the board then.
