(DUGGER) - Four people are suspected to be involved in a meth-related fire in Dugger last week.
The fire was reported Friday at 12:22 p.m. by a woman, who lives next to the house that caught fire on Poplar Street.
Sullivan County Sheriff's Department Chief Deputy Dave Haddix says the residents of the home were walking around the home after the fire was reported and then jumped in a car and left the scene.
Dugger and Sullivan City Fire Departments battled the blaze and contacted police after they found several suspicious items, like several cans of Coleman fuel, in the home.
Police obtained a search warrant, although officers could not get into the home due to the fire damage, they still were able to find several more items.
Police located packs of lithium batteries, acetone, cold packs , several bottles of sulfuric acid and blister packs of pseudoephedrine.
"They had been cooking a lot of dope there. This wasn't a one time deal," Haddix said, noting there were remnants of 'one pot' meth cooking methods. "Everything was there and in large quantities."
Police say the State Fire Marshal ruled the fire stated due to the making of meth and then the fire traveled into a bedroom where there were kerosene heaters.
Hendrix says he has not located the four people who were at the home when the fire started and is unsure if any of them suffered injuries related to the fire.
SCSD is waiting on final reports from the fire marshal and Indiana State Police Clandestine Lab, so the information can be turned over to the prosecutor's office and arrest warrants issued.
Haddix says the suspects names are not being released until the warrants are secured.
