(BEDFORD) - Officials have posted this information on the parade Facebook page “Parades of Bedford Indiana,” and emailed it to 1340 AM WBIW.
The BRI Parade Committee would like to announce that due to the parade being cancelled this past Saturday we have scheduled the following parade alternative.
This Saturday we will be having an awards ceremony at 4:30 pm on the west side of the courthouse square to honor our Grand Marshal, Adele Bowden Purlee, and our Honorary Grand Marshal, Bedford 13 & 14 year old All Star State Champions who participated in the Junior League World Series.
We are inviting all of the parade entries to display their unit inside the downtown square for public viewing from 5 pm to 7 pm, overflow parade unit parking on "J" Street, between 13th and 15th streets.
All entries need to arrive between 3 pm to 4:15 pm and check in with one of the volunteers for parking instructions.
There will be musical entertainment throughout the evening.
Then from 5 pm to 6:45 pm the public is invited to visit the tent on the west side of the courthouse to pick up ballots to vote on the 2013 Windows of Wonder and also on the parade entries on display.
The winners will all be announced at 7 pm and can pick up their award at that time.
This event will go on rain, snow, or shine.
The courthouse restrooms will be open from 4:30 pm till 7 pm.
If any parade units are not able to attend please contact Melanie at 275-1800 and she will set up a time with you to take a picture of your unit, which we will be posted on our Facebook page and also submitted to the Times Mail for their "Cyber Parade" that they have online.
The BRI Parade Committee would like to thank everyone for your patience.
