(CRANE) - The Department of Commerce is funding a $2 million grant for the Battery Innovation Center’s lab and facilities for development of new energy storage systems .
The technology developers to work in the lab will be announced in early 2014.
BIC is a nonprofit consortium of organizations focusing on development testing and commercialization of safe and reliable energy storage items. It was named the 2012 Department of Commerce Economic Development Agency (EDA) I6 Challenge Grant.
