(BLOOMINGTON) - Regions bank customers found the bank closed on Thursday, after police say a man walked into the building and demanded money.
The Regions branch at 476 S. Liberty Drive was robbed Thursday morning, the second Bloomington bank robbery in a week.
The Herald times reports that in each robbery, the thief was described to police as being a slender white man, wearing a dark-colored sweatshirt, jeans and sunglasses. The man was not armed, and his face was concealed.
No weapon was displayed and no one was injured in either robbery.
Bloomington Police Sgt. Joe Crider says the descriptions in both robberies are similar.
According to Crider, at 11:35 Thursday morning, a man approached a Regions bank teller and demanded cash. The man left with an undisclosed amount of cash and fled on foot to the west of the bank.
Police described this robber as a slender white man, approximately 5 feet, 10 inches tall and wearing a dark-colored sweatshirt, jeans, sunglasses and a white mask or handkerchief over his face.
Just before 3 p.m. on Dec. 20, a robber ran from the Old National Bank at 2801 E. Buick Cadillac Blvd. with an undisclosed amount of cash.
That robber also was described to police as being a 5-foot-10-inch tall white man with a slender build. He was wearing a dark-colored sweatshirt, a dark-colored face mask or scarf, sunglasses and jeans.
The man did not wear gloves during the Old National Bank robbery and police have collected evidence from the bank.
