(BLOOMINGTON) - Beginning with the first fall of snow and ice last evening, troopers at the Bloomington Post have worked the following as of 12:30pm.

Personal Injury Crashes - 1
Property Damage Crashes - 13
Slide Offs - 20
Assisting Motorists -16

The Indiana State Police would like to remind motorists of the following information and tips during the duration of the winter weather;

  • Leave early, drive slower!
  • Tune to local media for road and weather updates: don't call state or local police asking for this information. This helps us keep lines open for true emergency calls.
  • When multiple crashes are occurring, police are only able to respond to the critical crashes with seriously injured people, or crash scenes where vehicles are inoperable and blocking the road
  • Drivers involved in minor damage crashes should exchange Driver license, registration, and insurance information and then contact their insurances company because law enforcement cannot respond to every crash scene during high volume call periods.
