(BEDFORD) - On Dec. 11, member of the Bedford Elks Lodge No. 826 assembled 25 food baskets for distribution to people in need, filling them with about $160 worth of food and gift cards for groceries.
The organization spent $4,000 and the past few months preparing for the project. The Elks Grand Lodge assisted with the project by providing grants to the Bedford Lodge.
The Bedford Lodge had to meet certain criteria, in the form of local community projects, to qualify for the state grants.
