Bedford Couple Arrested After Resisting Police

(BEDFORD) - A Bedford couple were arrested in the Big Lot parking lot Monday afternoon after one slapped a police officer in the face and the other attempted to run.

According to Bedford Assistant Police Chief Joe DeWees, officers received a tip that 30-year-old Nathan King, of 2004 Avoca Eureka Rd., who was wanted on a warrant for battery was at Big Lots.

When officers arrived at the store they found King in the parking lot. He then attempted to flee from officers.

King was caught and arrested on a warrant for domestic battery, resisting arrest by fleeing and force and disorderly conduct.

While Nathan was being arrested a woman who was with him slapped a Bedford officer in the face.

24-year-old Jessica King, of 2004 Avoca Eureka Rd., was subdued and arrested on charges of disorderly conduct, battery on a police officers and resisting arrest.

When she was taken to the jail and being processed, officers found she had a hypodermic needle. She was then charged with possession of drug paraphernalia.
