Driver Flees Scene After Amish Buggy Was Hit By Vehicle

(MONTGOMERY) - The Daviess County Sheriff’s Department is investigating a hit and run accident early this morning involving a horse and buggy.

A horse and buggy being driven by 18-year-old Martin Devon Knepp of Montgomery was struck by a car on County Road 550 North in front of K & K Industries.

The driver of the car left the scene and was last seen traveling west.

Knepp who suffered several head and face lacerations was taken to Daviess Community Hospital for treatment and was released.

His buggy was destroyed and the horse slightly injured.

Police say several pieces of the car were found at the scene. Police are looking for a silver and white late 80's or early 90's Oldsmobile Ciera of Regency Elite.

Anyone with information on the car or driver is asked to contact the Daviess County Sheriff's Department at 254-1060.
