(BLOOMFIELD) - The public Defender for Randal Crosley, who is accused of murdering Katelyn Wolfe has asked for a continuance.
25-year-old Crosley and 26-year-old Jordan Buskirk, both from Jasonville, were both charged in separate cases with Wolfe's murder.
The Greene County Daily World reports that last Monday, Buskirk signed an agreement intending to plead guilty and that he will testify against Crosley. But now Crosley's court-appointed defense attorney, Public Defender Alan Baughman, filed a motion for a continuance. Crosley's case is currently set for a trial by jury on March 3 starting at 9 a.m.
His attorney stated they need more time, at least 60 days, to review evidence and secure expert witnesses.
According to the motion, the prosecution will not oppose the continuance. The judge has not ruled on request. If the motion for a continuance is granted, the start date of Crosley's trial would likely be in May 2014.
Crosley is charged with felony murder, conspiracy to commit murder, conspiracy to commit rape, criminal confinement, and two counts of dealing in a Schedule IV controlled substance.
He is also a suspect in a bank robbery that occurred in Avon in 2012 but charges have not yet been filed in that case.
